João Casqueira

João Casqueira Cardoso, MA in International Studies (Reading University) is Doctor of Laws of the European University Institute of Florence. He is Associate Professor at the Universidade Fernando Pessoa, and full member of the CEPESE (Research Centre for the study of Population, Economy and Society). He was awarded the "Salvador de Madariaga" scholarship (Spain), and was also a paid Schuman Trainee. He worked for the Council of Europe, the International Labour Organization, and for the Directorate-General for Parliamentary Research Services, European Parliament. He was also, more recently, consultant for the European Commission. Since 2008, he has been Reader of the UNESCO Chair 812 Youth, Education and Society. He is specialized in the field of Human rights and Humanitarian Law, and currently coordinates the Master in Humanitarian Action and Cooperation for Development.
Viktor Marsai
Ludovika – University of Public Service
Viktor Marsai, Ph.D, seized his first degree in the Eötvös Loránd University from history. He got his second degree from security and defence policy in the Miklós Zrínyi National Defence University in 2010. He had started his PhD studies in the ELU Doctoral School of History in 2008, and he wrote his dissertation about the Somali state building efforts. He seized his PhD in the spring 2014. In 2010-2011 he worked for the Hungarian Ministry of Defence. Since 2012 Marsai has been working for the National University of Public Service, first as junior lecturer, later as assistant professor. Since 2014 he has been delivering lectures in Péter Pázmány Catholic University. In March 2017 he became the leader of “Africa in the globalized world” Ludovika Research Group in the NUPS. In the same spring he won the János Bolyai Research Scholarship of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. He started his part-time job in Migration Research Institute at 1 September 2017, he became research director in October 2019. His main research areas focus on the migration trends of the African continent and the security aspects of migration
Catarina Simões

Catarina Simões graduated in Nutritional Sciences from the Faculty of Nutrition and Food Sciences of the University of Porto in 2007, and completed her Ph.D. in Biotechnology at the University of Helsinki in 2014. She is currently an Assistant professor at the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University Fernando Pessoa and Adjunct Coordinator of the BSc. in Nutrition Sciences. She is also a Researcher at CIBIO-Research Centre in Biodiversity and Genetic Resources of the University of Porto. Her research interests include food security, food safety and quality, and food composition.
Claudia Ramos

Cláudia Toriz Ramos. I completed my PhD in Political Studies in 2005 in the University of Aberdeen, United Kingdom. I hold a Master degree in Medieval History by Universidade do Porto (1992) and a first degree in History also by Universidade do Porto (1986). I am currently an Assistant Professor in Universidade Fernando Pessoa, Faculdade de Ciências Humanas e Sociais. My research interests cover European and Portuguese politics, with a focus on European integration and on democracy. I also take an interest in globalisation: international security, peace promotion, democratisation and humanitarian aid.
